Members Sara Tully and Jim Ortiz launched silent auctions in the 1990s to support skiing and snowboarding programs during the winter as well as camping, canoeing, water skiing, and downhill mountain biking at Big Bear Lake during the summer. USARC serves southern California, southern Nevada, and Arizona and has provided thousands of lessons to the disabled community. Jim and Roy Heilpern, Gunter Schrecker, and Peter Michael volunteered as USARC ski instructors and the club has donated to the school over the years.
